Biography:

Joseph is Professor and Executive Director of the Thornton Energy Research Institute. Current research projects include: industrial decarbonisation planning, cryogenic carbon capture, hydrogen technologies and economies. He is academic lead on the following bodies: UK Decarbonised of Gas Alliance; National Grid Future Of Gas programme; UK Hydrogen Investor Forum; the HyNet consortium and is the North West lead for the UK Industrial Decarbonisation Research and Innovation Centre. He chairs the NW Hydrogen Alliance and is a Trustee on the Department for Education arm’s length Engineering Construction Industry Training Board.
