Laura Torrente Murciano

Reader in Reaction Engineering and Catalysis

University of Cambridge

Interests:

Development of novel integrated technologies for the deployment of green ammonia as carbon free energy vector, including small-scale synthesis and decomposition.

Biography:

Laura is a Reader in Reaction Engineering and Catalysis at the University of Cambridge. Her work involves the development of sustainable chemical processes combining catalysis development and process integration. Her group is developing a small-scale, absorption-enhanced single vessel ammonia production processes able to cope with the intermittencies of the renewable energy production. They are also working on low temperature ammonia decomposition catalysts. She is a co-author a policy brief document commissioned by the Royal Society entitled "Ammonia: zero-carbon fertiliser, fuel and energy store" (royalsociety.org/green-ammonia).
